I was disappointed recently because it seemed the hummingbirds were not coming to the feeder. I heard that hummingbirds are attracted to the color of the flowers and not a scent. The flowers on the feeder faded and I painted them with some red nail polish. That didn’t work. So, I bought a new feeder, mixed up some sugar-water and hung the feeder. We have seen a male ruby throated hummingbird at least once a day since.
Fourth of July celebrations brought two opportunities to watch fireworks. Despite the heat, humidity and bugs, it was an enjoyable time. A third opportunity was canceled due to God’s own display of some lightning.
I recently agreed to be a co-leader for my friend’s daughter’s Girl Scout troop. In some ways and to many people that may NOT be something to smile about but I’m really looking forward to it. I was a Girl Scout for many years and have lots of fond memories. Camping, cooking, sewing, cookie sales, hoagie sales, parades, canoeing, new friends.
